Bluefin fishing in Indonesia 🇮🇩

Ben’s currently living the dream, travelling through Indonesia and mixing up surfing and fishing wherever he can.

While exploring the coast, he landed this proper bluefin on one of the lures we sent him out with – proof that the gear works just as well in tropical salt as it does back home 👊

Landed on a YKR ZEN

Not everything went smoothly though…

He managed to snap his Savage Gear rod, so had to improvise and pick up a local replacement. The rod he found is a Daido Oceanic (a local Indo knock-off of Daiwa), rated 40–100g and 10ft long. It only cost £20, but in his words:

“It says 100g rated… but I wouldn’t trust casting anything over 70g on it 😂”

Sometimes it’s not about having the fanciest kit — it’s about making what you’ve got work, wherever you are in the world 🌍🎣

Tight lines, Ben — keep them coming.
